Aleksey Kondratyev is an artist whose work examines the intersection of globalization, labor, and identity.
Kondratyev (b. 1993 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) received his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019 and his BFA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 2014. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Rome, Italy; the Berlin Center for Contemporary Art, Germany; the SFO Museum at the San Francisco International Airport, California; the Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece; the Neue Schule für Fotografie in Berlin, Germany; Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago, IL; Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn, NY; Blue Sky: the Oregon Center for Photographic Arts in Portland; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France, and Galleria Foto-Forum in Bolzano, Italy. Kondratyev’s work has been published in National Geographic, The Financial Times, CNN, the Guardian, GEO, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, El Pais, Vogue Italia, Huffington Post, the Harvard Business Review, The Wire, and the British Journal of Photography.
